Evelyn, born into the elite Carrington dynasty and in control of the family empire, marries Adrian, a man from an ordinary‑class background. She puts clubs and massive fortunes under his management and takes tender care of his mother Beatrice. One day, Evelyn brings the post‑operative Beatrice to dine at her exclusive club, only to catch Adrian’s lover Vivienne occupying their private booth. Arrogant and emboldened by Adrian’s affection, Vivienne publicly humiliates and assaults the two women, smashing the heirloom jewelry Beatrice once gave to Evelyn. Realizing her husband has been cheating and squandering her wealth on his mistress, Evelyn reaches out to Sebastian, heir to the Rockefeller family, for assistance. When Adrian arrives, he sides entirely with Vivienne, indifferent to the injuries of his wife and mother. Vivienne keeps launching public attacks and spreading malicious rumors. Driven by self‑interest, Adrian shields his lover and even conspires with her to pressure Evelyn through public opinion. Eventually, Evelyn presents full evidence of Adrian’s embezzlement and infidelity, exposing that all his wealth comes from her. Adrian and Vivienne are convicted and sent to prison. A year later, Evelyn leaves the past behind and finds love with Sebastian, who has always stood by her side, while Beatrice makes a full recovery.
