Nyla is forced to marry Ronan, her father’s killer, in order to save her people. At the wedding, Ronan challenges his cousin Drecken for the right to wed her, and the two gradually develop love amid their mutual hatred—ultimately discovering they are destined soulmates. Together, they overcome crises including poisoning attempts, kidnapping, and the murder of their chieftain, ultimately exposing Drecken and Antonia’s conspiracy: posing as wolf-hunters to massacre their own kin. Nyla becomes pregnant and gives birth, and the couple ascends as chieftain and chieftainess, uniting to protect the five wolf packs.
